Mary Last, CESMT-MMCP
Equine Bodywork Therapist
Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist
Masterson Method® Certified and
Red Light Therapist
I grew up in the Ohio countryside loving horses and taking summer trips that always included fun rides and adventures with family horses. I finally got my first Pinto pony, Princess, at age 8. After outgrowing her, I got a Paint horse, Misty Del, and enjoyed "playing" and riding through the woods and trails with friends. Life intervened, I moved to Florida and away from horses until my young daughter became obsessed at the age of 3. That's all I needed to refuel the fire. A few years later came the purchase of my horse (Appendix), a horse trailer, then another horse (a stocky, stable and talented QH for her), hauling to lessons, shows, trail riding together and with friends.
It was the purchase of my three and a half year old Appendix (a then wanna be stallion) in July, 2000 that started my journey. Through a tough period of trial and error, I found the answers and partnership I was seeking with natural horsemanship. That process of reading the horse, speaking their language and "less is more" approach sparked a desire to learn more about helping the horse in a holistic, non-invasive way. I became a Certified Sports Massage Therapist in 2004, followed by a multitude of related courses and clinics. Life again intervened when I entered the corporate world and was soon spending more time inside than out! I realized I desperately needed to feed my soul and passion. So, I formed my company, "Hands On" Equine Services, Inc., and got back to focusing, working on horses and combining my skills based on the principles of "less is more" horsemanship to include my studies of Myofascial Release and Acupoint/Red Light Therapy.
I truly enjoy teaching and sharing information I've learned along the way and have created my own unique blend of techniques based on over 20 years of "hands on" experience, certifications and continuing education which I offer through my courses and workshops.
I will continue on my never ending journey to further my education for the horse and believe wholeheartedly in my motto....
"It's all about the horse!"
Happy Trails......
